  AN UNUSUAL BRADLEY & HUBBARD PATINATED METAL OVERLAY AN...AN UNUSUAL BRADLEY & HUBBARD PATINATED METAL OVERLAY AND SLAG GLASS LAMP SHADE WITH HANDEL METAL BASE, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the flaring conical dodecagon shade with top band of kokoshnik style overlay on yellow glass panels, over a row of interlocked ellipticals on purple glass above vertical shaped rectangular overlay panels of nicely detailed stylized palm trees on green glass with base corners of quarter round radiating overlay on yellow glass, above a curtain base overlay rim of interlaced lines on purple glass, height: 11 1/2", diameter: 20"; on a Handel patinated metal three light lamp base with foliate cast details, verso molded "HANDEL," fitted for electricity, height: 21", diameter: 7 3/4". Note: A virtually identical Bradley & Hubbard lamp shade (with period base) was sold on 1/30/ 2016 by H.G. Webber Antiques & Auctions, of Hampton, NH, lot 85 for $4,250. Condition: The Bradley & Hubbard lampshade is in good condition with expected surface dust buildup in corners throughout, some oxidized spots on metal areas, one corner between panels on curtain is slightly separated. The Handel lamp base has areas of worn patina, a few minor scratches, needs newer wiring, oxidized spots and normal surface buildup. There are 72 individual slag glass panels on the lampshade.
